Several items from their home, including three telephones and gas cylinders, were taken for further examination during the investigation process.

A few months after getting married, fate took a tragic turn for Ruth Matete when her husband died in a fire accident suspected to have been caused by a gas cylinder. At the time, Matete was two months pregnant, eagerly anticipating their first child together.

Matete has since shared the series of challenges she has faced, revealing the deep emotional scars left by her husband’s death.

Accusations of her involvement in her husband’s demise spread rapidly, particularly through bloggers. Adding to her anguish, Matete was subsequently barred from burying her husband for three months.

“A few days ago, the court case that had been hanging over my head, was finally closed. The hearing was on 25th April 2024, and I was declared free. The case is over.The file is closed.To the glory of God!. I got back the gas cylinder and the three phones” she wrote.

She sent an emotional letter on Facebook, one of her social media accounts, that summarized the entire experience.

“I was to write a very long post. By now you know I can really do long posts . But I realized that, that would mean writing down all that has happened in the last four years.

Then I changed my mind. So here I am, trying to make it as short as possible. It’s been four years. Life kind of moved on, but something was still pending”she wrote.

In her heartfelt Facebook post, she poured out her emotions, reflecting on the challenges she faced. She made a point of expressing deep gratitude to her father, whose unwavering support sustained her through it all.
