The 26-year-old Spain international has failed to enjoy a regular first-team Under Carlo Ancelotti during the last season due to problems arising from fitness and form.
Arsenal has been credited with an interest in the Real Madrid attacker in the past months as they plan to bolster their attack, but a deal to bring him to the Emirates Stadium has failed on several occasions.
However, Manchester United has joined Arsenal in the race for the Spanish international attacking midfielder and according to Caughtoffside, Manchester United is keen on signing Marco Asensio, as he could be an upgrade for the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial, who were only able to make a little impact at the Old Trafford in the last season.
Asensio was able to partake in 31 La Liga games during the last season and was able to find the back of the net 10 times.
