In truth, this decision has long been coming. Cristiano Ronaldo is a very competitive athlete, and he wants to continue playing at the top, exactly why he’s unwilling to settle for a season playing in the Europa League, whereas he can easily get Champions League football at another team, say Bayern Munich or PSG for example.

Ronaldo has played in the Champions League for a total of 14 consecutive seasons now, I think we can all understand why he’s taken this bold step to move on from Man Utd.
