Thomas Tuchel’s team beat Burnley 4-0 with to goals from Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic, and Reece James, while Mikel Arteta’s side beat a spirited Watford 3-2.

Chelsea came in third with 53 points and Arsenal fourth with 48. The Gunners lead Manchester United by one point but have three games in hand.

If they win, they will move within two points of their London rivals.

But both clubs have a game in hand on second-placed Liverpool, who lead Chelsea by ten points.

With little over ten games remaining for each team, the following six games might be crucial in the battle for a top-four finish.

On paper, it’s a good run of matches for Chelsea, with four games against relegation-threatened clubs.

Arsenal and Liverpool will play each other, as well as Aston Villa. Liverpool also has a crucial game against Manchester City.

West Ham, one of the season’s biggest surprises, will be hoping to make major progress towards the Champions League in the coming weeks, but given their March schedule, it will be difficult.

The month begins when they lost against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool on Merseyside.

After that, they’ll play Aston Villa at the London Stadium before facing Tottenham Hotspur across the city.

Throughout March, Thomas Tuchel’s side has a rather favourable match slate – at least on paper – with a handful of relegation prospects on their schedule.

After overcoming Burnley, who are presently 18th in the standings after losing just twice in their past seven games, they face a resurgent Newcastle United.

Then it’s off to Norwich City, who are now in the relegation zone, before facing Brentford at Stamford Bridge.

With a number of games in hand, the Gunners may be able to increase the gap on the Champions League positions in the next weeks, but they will have to play a few critical matches to do so.
