Chelsea Football Club, according to today’s report, has entered the race for FC Barcelona’s midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, with the expectations of beating their Premier League rival, Manchester United, to the signature of the Dutch playmaker Frenkie de Jong.

Reporting this development in the summer transfer window, Utd District, via its official Twitter handle, wrote, “Chelsea Football Club is in direct talks with Barcelona to sign Frenkie de Jong and are optimistic of striking a deal.

Man United has previously ‘reached’ an agreement on an €85m fee with Barcelona, but the player has not yet made a decision.”

On Tuesday, Chelsea Football Club reportedly submitted a bid of over £50m for Brighton & Hove Albion’s left-back Marc Cucurella—the club’s asking price that dissipated Manchester City’s interest in the Spaniard before Chelsea Football Club stepped in.

Yesterday, there was high confidence in Chelsea FC’s camp that a deal for Spanish international left-back, Marc Cucurella, will be completed, as personal terms with the twenty-four (24) years old defender has been agreed.

However, according to today’s report, the deal is not yet done, as Brighton & Hove Albion is seeking for a higher fee for the twenty-four (24) years old left-back and his replacement, with Chelsea FC young talent, Levi Colwill, as the most suitable replacement for Marc Cucurella in the club.
