Since the inception of the Champions League in the 1955-56 season, 22 different teams have won the trophy. While last season’s winners, Real Madrid are very much familiar with the competition, over the years, some teams that are not so popular have won the Champions League and because of their size and popularity, many people do not even realize that they have ever won the competition.

Without further ado, below are ten teams you may not know have won the Champions League:

1. Celtic

Celtic won the Champions League in 1967 after a 2-1 win against Inter Milan in the final. The Scottish League giants also reached the final of the competition in 1970 but were defeated by Feyenoord.

2. Feyenoord

A 2-1 win against Celtic in the final of the 1970 Champions League ensured that Feyenoord won their first and only Champions League title to date.

3. Hamburg – 1982/83 season

4. Nottingham Forest – 1978/79 and 1979/80 seasons

5. Steaua Bucuresti

They won the Champions League title in the 1985/86 season after beating Barcelona on penalties with the score tied (nil-nil) at the end of extra time.
