Chelsea 2-1 West Ham...CONTINUE READING

Chelsea snatched victory away from West Ham United at Stamford Bridge as Thomas Tuchel’s team battled back from behind to clinch a critical 2-1 win in a fiery London derby.

Thomas Tuchel’s team were disappointed in the first-half, as West Ham sat back in their tight shape and did not enable the home side to produce many clear-cut opportunities. Neither team could get a shot on target throughout the opening quarter.

Chilwell, who had only entered the match for Chelsea as a substitute a few minutes earlier, scored for the Blues less than a quarter of an hour later by putting a shot from an acute angle inside the box that went through Lukasz Fabianski’s legs. This brought Chelsea back into the contest.

Then, with just four minutes left to play, West Ham blew a great opportunity to win the game when Maxwel Cornet’s shot hit the post and went out of play.

After the unbelievable turn of events, Chelsea moved up the other end and scored the game-winning goal. Chilwell then converted into the team’s provider, and Kai Havertz scored the game-winning goal for the home side by tapping in Chilwell’s cross inside the penalty area.

Cornet then scored again for West Ham a minute later, but his goal that went high into the top of the net was controversially disallowed by the video assistant referee due to a foul committed by Jarrod Bowen on Edouard Mendy in the buildup to the goal.

Tottenham 2-1 Fulham

Tottenham were fairly dominating in a 2-1 win against Fulham, but were forced to rely on a superb late goal from Aleksander Mitrovic to secure the victory.

Spurs seized the lead five minutes before halftime via Pierre-Emile Hojberg, who hammered a low drive in after a one-two with Richarlison, and the game seemed to be won 15 minutes from time when Harry Kane poked home Ryan Sessegnon’s close-range cross.

Richarlison hit the post for the second time following Son Heung-first-half Min’s attempt, and then Fulham’s number nine curled an unstoppable shot past Cristian Romero.
