The gorgeous yellow color of this drink is achieved by mixing milk with spices like turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger. Healthline states that it is used by many as an alternate method of strengthening the immune system and warding off disease.

1. Packed with Protective Antioxidants

It is turmeric, a common yellow spice, that gives many meals their characteristic yellow color. Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, has been employed in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries due to its potent antioxidant properties

Antioxidants are chemicals that shield the body from the harmful effects of oxidative stress by scavenging free radicals. Numerous studies have found that diets high in antioxidants may lower one’s susceptibility to illness and infection. Antioxidants are essential for maintaining optimal cell activity.

Common ingredients in golden milk recipes include cinnamon and ginger, both of which have potent antioxidant properties.

2. Promotes a Decrease in Joint Inflammation and Pain.

The ingredients in golden milk have been linked to its anti-inflammatory effects. Some researchers believe that persistent inflammation contributes to the development or progression of diseases like cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s disease, and cardiovascular disease. For this reason, a diet rich in anti-inflammatory compounds may be helpful.

The primary component of turmeric, called curcumin, shares anti-inflammatory qualities with spices like ginger and cinnamon.

According to research, curcumin’s anti-inflammatory effects are on par with those of several prescription medicines, but without the drawbacks.

Patients with inflammatory conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, may find relief through yoga and pilates.

3. Possible benefits to memory and other mental faculties.

However, there is some evidence that drinking golden milk can help the mind. Studies suggest that curcumin may boost brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) (BDNF).

The presence of the neurotransmitter BDNF promotes the development of new synapses and the proliferation of brain cells. Having insufficient BDNF in the body has been related to Alzheimer’s disease and other brain problems.

4. The main element in turmeric, called curcumin, may have an uplifting influence on one’s disposition.

This study suggests that curcumin, the key element in turmeric, can boost mood and alleviate depressive symptoms. Those who took just curcumin fared as well as those who received both antidepressants and curcumin.

5. A lower risk of heart attack and death is one of the benefits.

A lower risk of cardiovascular disease has been linked to adding cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric to your daily cup of golden milk.

The anti-inflammatory and antioxidant characteristics of these foods may also help with cardiovascular disease.

Some of the constituents in golden milk, such ginger and cinnamon, have been shown to have an effect on blood sugar levels.

Because insulin-resistant cells are less able to absorb sugar from the blood, reducing insulin resistance frequently results in lower blood glucose levels.

Cinnamon appears to inhibit sugar absorption in the intestines, which may aid in blood sugar regulation. Blood sugar levels are lowered after consuming ginger, but only in tiny amounts.

6. Lessens the likelihood of developing cancer

Cancer is defined by the unchecked proliferation of cells. Increasingly, people are turning to nontraditional cancer treatments in addition to the standard medical options. Recently published research suggests that the spices in golden milk may help in this way.

7. Efficacious against microorganisms, viruses, and yeasts.

To date, studies on this supplement have shown no adverse effects. Curcumin’s antibacterial and antiviral effects have been studied in vitro, and the results suggest promise for application in preventing and treating infections.

Despite promising results in test tubes, golden milk does not appear to reduce infection rates in humans. The chemicals in ginger may also prevent the spread of some diseases.

8. Possibility of improving digestive health.

Chronic indigestion, often known as dyspepsia, is characterized by discomfort and pain in the upper abdomen region. Irritability in the bowels is a common symptom of a stomach that isn’t emptying quickly enough.

If you suffer from dyspepsia, you should know that ginger, one of the constituents in golden milk, can help alleviate your symptoms.

One of the ingredients in golden milk, turmeric, has been shown to reduce stomach acid. In addition to aiding in fat digestion, turmeric may also increase bile production.

9. Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium, which in turn helps the bones get stronger.

There’s some evidence that drinking golden milk can help your body build a healthy, strong skeleton. Bone and tooth health depend on adequate intake of calcium and vitamin D, which can be found in both cow’s milk and vitamin D-fortified plant milk.

When you don’t get enough calcium in your diet, your body may start to pull the mineral it needs from your bones. As a result of this slow process, osteopenia and osteoporosis are more likely to manifest.

Vitamin D aids the absorption of calcium in the intestines, which in turn strengthens bones. Bones can become brittle and break easily even with a calcium-rich diet if vitamin D deficiency is not addressed.
