Prior to the international break, Chelsea’s recent performances had not been particularly strong, which had left many Chelsea supporters unsure about how well the team could perform going further into the season.

With six league games played so far this season, Chelsea are currently ranked seventh on the Premier League table. They have one point from two games in Champions League group E, and still have to play two games against AC Milan.

Chelsea travels to Selhurst Park to play Crystal Palace this weekend before their first of two games against Italian club AC Milan in the Champions League. Graham Potter will look to turn around Chelsea’s unconvincing form as soon as the international break is over.

When club football resumes this weekend, there are various reasons to think that Chelsea team might grow extremely stron and unstoppable.

In this article, we will be writing on the three reasons why Chelsea could reignite their season and become unstoppable just after the international break.

1. Time for Graham Potter to study the team

Having been appointed two weeks before the international break, with two weeks of no Premier League action for Chelsea, due to the death and burial of Queen Elizabeth, Graham Potter have only managed the Chelsea team once in the Champions League match against RB Salzburg.

The lack of no league football activity for Chelsea in two weeks, would have given Graham Potter more time to study the players, watch videos to enhance his knowledge about the players, know their best positions and as well pass his football ideas and philosophies on how he want the team to play to the players.

The lack of football activity for Chelsea could come in handy for Graham Potter, who could take that as an opportunity for Chelsea to reignite their form when they return back from the international break.

2. Players returning back with good form

After outstanding performances with their national teams, the majority of Chelsea players would be returning from their international obligations with a great deal of confidence.

Players like Conor Gallagher, Thiago Silva, Reece James, Mason Mount, and Kai Havertz have all excelled for their respective nations and might continue that form with Chelsea this weekend when club football begins.

Injured Chelsea players have taken advantage of the absence of club football action to become well again, making Chelsea stronger overall.

Players like Ngolo Kante and Edouard Mendy have resumed training, and it’s possible that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will soon be fully recovered from his jaw injury.

3. Easy Run of fixtures

Chelsea would have one of the league’s easiest stretch of games following the break, lasting through the end of October.

Chelsea would face off against Crystal Palace, Wolves, Aston Villa, Brentford, Manchester United and Brighton, while they play AC Milan twice and Salzburg in the Champions League.

Chelsea may capitalize on those winnable matches to gain momentum and develop into a highly competitive team this year.
