They believe the Belgian striker would be an excellent complement to Karim Benzema up front, thus Los Blancos are reportedly planning to sign him.

Lukaku is having a successful loan at San Siro, where he has been instrumental in leading Inter’s attack. This season, the 29-year-old has started all 19 games he has played in for the Italian side, scoring five goals and assisting on another.

A Serie A veteran who has represented his country 104 times, averaging 1.3 shots and 0.7 critical passes per 90 minutes, De Bruyne has been an effective leader of the line at times.

His pass success rate in the Premier League is 69.3%, therefore he has to work on improving his link-up play in the offensive third (stats via who scored).

The summer of 2026 will mark the end of his current deal with Chelsea, his parent club. That means Los Blancos will need a substantial offer to sign him at the end of the season.

As a tall player at 1.91 meters, Lukaku can use his height and strength to his advantage. When he gets regular playing time, he can score goals on a streaky basis and also creates opportunities for his teammates.

The talented Belgian player, though, has been prone to injuries as of late and had a rough time at Chelsea last season. Hence, Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, will not find him to be a suitable addition at this time.

If Los Blancos wish to maintain their dominance in Spanish and European football in the next seasons, they need to look to sign a more experienced striker.

The 29-year-old Lukaku is at the peak of his career, but his lack of quality link-up play in the final third won’t work with Ancelotti’s system.

Should he remain unsigned, Real Madrid would be wise to pass on signing him. The Spanish powerhouses should instead look to add a more steady player to their roster later in the year. So Carlo Ancelotti should add Lukaku to his team
