Pep Guardiola said that he believes that Marcus Rashford was in an offside position and his decision to chase after the pass distracted Manchester City defenders and goalkeeper from stopping Fernandes from scoring the goal.

Pep Guardiola went on to say that Bruno Fernandes was clearly not offside, however, if Marcus Rashford did not make an attempt to play the ball, Manchester City defenders would not have allowed Bruno Fernandes to score the goal because he would have been covered on time.

Pep Guardiola was of the opinion that when Manchester City defenders saw that Rashford was clearly offside, they thought that he would be flagged offside and this made them not to cover-up their lines quickly to prevent Bruno Fernandes from scoring the equalizer.
