Jota opened the scoring with a close-range finish in the first half, dedicating his goal celebration to the absent Luis Diaz, who was unable to play due to the news of his parents’ kidnapping in Colombia.

Nunez doubled Liverpool’s lead shortly after, expertly converting Dominik Szoboszlai’s cut-back. Salah put the game to bed in the second half, capitalising on an error by Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner.

Despite Forest’s lone chance, an attempt by Anthony Elanga that struck the crossbar, the result was never in question. Manager Jurgen Klopp dedicated the win to Diaz and praised his players for their extraordinary performance in the face of adversity.

Haaland, who had previously netted a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory against United a year ago, opened the scoring with a penalty, awarded after Rasmus Hojlund’s foul on Rodri in the box. While some pundits labelled it “soft,” former referee Mike Dean deemed it a “clear holding offence.”

Haaland struck again with a powerful header in the second half, capitalising on a chance he had earlier missed, thanks to Onana’s heroics. The striker unselfishly set up Phil Foden for the third goal, solidifying City’s dominance in the rivalry.
