The Portuguese manager is known for breaking the jinxes of the clubs he manages, delivering great successes that forever changes the mentality of the club.

Last night, he led AS Roma to their first ever European trophy after a 1-0 win over Feyenoord in the final of the Uefa Europa Conference League.

In light of this great achievement, we take a look at 5 times he’s done something as remarkable as this, breaking the trophy jinxes of the clubs he’s managed.

Before Mourinho, Porto had not won a European title in 18 years. The club was not in a very good place.

But after just three years in charge, he won them two European trophies (Uefa Cup, and Champions League) before leaving the Portuguese club for Chelsea.

Before Mourinho joined Chelsea, the club was on a 50 wait for a League title. In just one season, he broke the jinx by making them Champions of England and repeated the feat in his second year at the club.

More than a decade had gone by and the Nerazzurris were still in charge of a European trophy.

Mourinho joined them after leaving Chelsea and in his final season, broke the jinx and won the Uefa Champions League in a phenomenal season where they won the treble.

Before Mourinho joined Real Madrid, the Spanish giants had no hope of beating Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona to the titke.

Mourinho was signed to break Barcelona’s total dominance in Spain and he achieved it, winning the La Liga by a record high 100 points at the time.

One of the most popular clubs in Italy, AS Roma, had never won a European competition until Mourinho guided them to the maiden edition of the Uefa Europa Conference League yesterday.

As a matter of fact, the last time the Giolorossi won any trophy was in 2008, when they won the Coppa Italia.

This success means Jose Mourinho has ended the club’s 14 year wait for a trophy in only his first season in charge.
