Kcent is a budding artist has sold his CDs on Nairobi CBD highways for the last 10 years.
He was saved by the mob from a second shot that would kill him and rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital.
The policeman is known to Kcent, and his brother Benjamin Obunaka alleges that he had issues with him selling his music on the streets.
This never made sense to Kcent, and he always felt the policeman targeted him unfairly.
“Huyu mbanga amekuwa tu na issues na bro wangu. Alisema atakuja kumuwa…”
Benjamin alleged that the police never wanted him on the street and had warned him that he will finish him if he doesn’t stop.
We are yet to know the police side of the story, but on such incidents, the police have always claimed of involvement in crime.
On this day, the said police confronted Kcent and after an altercation, he punched him on the face. Kcent then held on to him and he pulled the trigger which luckily missed the chest, hit his neck coming out from the back.
According to the brother, he only missed the chest because of Kcent held on to him fearing for his life. On realizing he missed the chest, he aimed again, but the crowd live with cameras on deterred him.
The cop was pulled to safety by his colleagues and taken to Nyayo house.
After the incident, he was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital and put in ICU. On April 2nd miraculously he gained his voice and was out of ICU.
He is now admitted in the ward under constant checkup by the medics.
Out in the street, his brother is fighting for justice. He reported the matter to the nearest police station at parliament buildings.
He also followed up with the DCI and was informed that they are waiting for Kcent side of the story. The matter has also been reported to the IPOA who have promised to follow up.
