Entering the contest outside of the bottom three on goal difference, Dean Smith’s men were pulled apart in the first half at Craven Cottage Stadium, as Willian, Carlos Vinicius, and Tom Cairney all took advantage of shambolic defending to bury Leicester City before the break on Monday afternoon.

Tom Cairney got his second and his team’s fourth fast in the second half before Willian finalized a brace of his own, plundering in a fine solo effort.

Harvey Barnes scored two and James Maddison wiped in a penalty to give Leicester City supporters a momentary cheer, but the outcome was never in question.

Elsewhere, Dwight McNeil registered a second-half brace as Everton soared into 16th and two points clear of the English Premier League relegation zone to soak Brighton’s European football dreams with a remarkable 5-1 victory at the Amex Stadium on Monday evening.

It was a horrible first half for the seventh-placed Brighton, who fell behind after just 33 seconds through Abdoulaye Doucoure, who later registered a first-half brace in the fascinating contest.

The hosts’ woes were worsened when goalkeeper Jason Steele turned the ball into his net and McNeil added another goal for Everton in the second half.
