Pep Guardiola led Manchester City team emerged the Champions yet again to make it their fourth in five years which was such a dominant run of form in one of the most difficult leagues in Europe if not the most difficult.

It was observed that Manchester United who were runners-up in the previous campaign where they lost narrowly to their arch rival under then Norwegian manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer struggled to adapt to life in the just concluded season where they experienced mixed run of form which as such made them dropped points where least expected and as a result lagged behind in all competitions.

Manchester United as the main focus did the unexpected as they ended the campaign with no goal difference after they conceded the same number of goals scored upfront which showed how poor they have been defensively.

This then prompted looking into the EPL flops of the 2021/2022 season been dominated by Manchester United players particularly at the defence line where they were not formidable despite their Spaniard goalkeeper, David de Gea been at his best in every games he’s been in between the stick.

Leeds United goalkeeper, Illan Stephane Meslier is in-between the stick together with the pairing of Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw as the central defenders and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as well as Junior Firpo managing the right-back and left-back position respectively, which completed the four-man defence line.

The midfield trio of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish all performed below expectations for their top clubs and as such made the list alongside the forward trio of Romelu Lukaku, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Timo Werner which completed the 4-3-3 formations.

The formation as done here revealed that Manchester United players dominated the list with a total of 5, Chelsea with two as well as Leeds United who also had two, together with one player each from Manchester City and Everton respectively.
