The move comes after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua dropped a bombshell during his State of the Nation address in Mombasa. The deputy president accused NIS of failing to fulfil its mandate to advise the president accordingly.

President Ruto felt NIS DG Nordin Haji failed to provide sufficient intelligence on the organic protests by Gen Z. The president demanded a report with the names of the financiers, but NIS revealed that it was a group of criminals.

Could DP Gachagua have a grudge against DG Haji over their past? Haji had allowed his prosecution over a Sh2 billion fraud. Later, the grudge grew when Haji brokered a truce between President Ruto and Azimio.

Insiders say this didn’t go well with Rig G. Don’t be distracted. He is also diverting attention from the true cause of this chaos. The problem with the protests lies with the police command.
