Many banks in the area only opened for business to attend to customers with different issues inside the bank, and their Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) did not dispense cash.

On February 27, some banks did not open at all, while others only allowed customers to withdraw the daily limit of N20,000, such as Access Bank. However, Zenith Bank was dispensing cash to its customers.

Bank customer Ismaila Adebayo expressed frustration at not being able to access the money he worked hard for, and pointed out that despite the hope that things may change for the better after the elections, there are no visible signs of improvement.

Point of Sale (POS) attendant Margareth Oladele also lamented the impact of the Naira scarcity on her business, and called on the government to find a solution to the problem, as Nigerians were tired of living a life of frustration.
