Casemiro and Alejandro Garnacho both scored midway through the first half, and Anthony Martial’s goal early in the second half erased any doubts that it had been a truly one-sided game from start to finish. But the real test for United will come on Saturday when the two teams meet in the Premier League.
Here are the game’s top three players.
Casemiro.
The Brazilian midfielder’s offensive contributions from midfield have never been in doubt, even though he hasn’t been at his best this season. A superb goal and helper. He also appeared better in deeper positions, but he still has room to grow and return to his levels from the previous season. Amrabat could support that.
Amrabat, Sofyan
The deadline-day addition displayed incredibly encouraging early indications of what he will soon bring to the team. Despite playing outside of his usual position on his debut, he covered every area and displayed his brilliant passing skills.
Mason Mount.
Upon his return from injury, he generated four chances for goals, and United converted two of them. His best performance in a while came when he was replaced at halftime….CONTINUE READING
