As a fan of football, I am very disappointed to see that a home grown star like Mason Mount is struggling to get a deserving contract from his boyhood club Chelsea after serving them diligently for the past 4 years....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

When Chelsea were hit with a transfer ban years ago, Mount was one of the young academy graduates that got the chance to play for the first team.

The young Englishman proved to be a very valuable player and since then, earned his place as one of the best players in the Chelsea team.

He played a crucial role in the team’s qualification for the Champions League the following year, and helped them win it for the second time in history, providing an assist in the final against Manchester City.

Twice he won the club’s Player of the Season award and was heavily tipped to become the new captain of Chelsea.

But after a disastrous season that saw the London club suffer their worst ever year in the Premier League, it appears that Mount will be leaving to join Manchester United.

This is because, Chelsea have refused to offer the Englishman a contract he deserves. With players like Fofana, James, Chilwell, Havertz and co. on mega salaries, it only makes sense that Mount gets a mega deal too.

Months ago, another academy graduate, Reece James got a new six-year deal worth around £250,000-a-week. But Mount is not thought to have been offered a comparable salary. Why? If you ask me, he deserves it as much as Reece James who is always injured and hasn’t been dependable for the blues does.

The most bewildering thing about all of these is that, Mount all these years, has been on a salary less than £100K a week for Chelsea.

Now when it’s time for him to get a better contract, the club is refusing to give him what he deserves. That is something most people would consider unfair and Chelsea being ungrateful.

As things stand, if they insist that they can’t give him a salary close to what Reece James is getting, then I believe he should leave the club and join Manchester United who have shown really strong interest in signing him.
