He was perplexed as to the reasoning behind the Blues’ decision to spend over sixty million pounds to acquire the player from Brighton in the summer.

According to the Frenchman, the Spaniard should not even be considered for a spot in Chelsea’s starting eleven.

The Spanish left defender was acquired by the Blues in the summer from Brighton in a transaction that had a potential value of up to £62 million.

Since then, he has had a difficult time living up to the price tag that was placed on him, and the inconsistency of Chelsea’s play has not helped his form.

As a result of injuries to Ben Chilwell and Reece James, he has maintained his spot in the Blues’ starting lineup on a regular basis.

According to comments made by Leboeuf to ESPN, “Reece James and Chilwell are going to get back into fitness as soon as possible because we need them and we don’t want to see Cucurella anymore.”

The player does not meet Chelsea’s standards of excellence. It can be summed up like that.

We are able to tell that he does not belong at that level, but it is insane that they signed him for sixty or seventy million pounds.
