In goal, it is likely that David de Gea will keep his place as United’s No. 1. The Spaniard has been a rock at the back for United this season and will be looking to keep a clean sheet against Reading.

In front of him, it is likely that United will opt for a back four of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelöf, and Luke Shaw. This defensive unit has plenty of experience and should provide the necessary cover for de Gea.

In midfield, Manchester United could field a trio of Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, and Fred. This is a tried-and-tested combination for Erik ten Hag.

Ahead of them, United could opt for a front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Elanga, and Wout Weghorst. This attacking trio has plenty of pace and creativity and should be enough to break down the Reading defence.
