Manchester United have finally started to live up to their summer transfer window expectations over the past week following big money moves for Brazilian duo Casemiro and Antony, but more money could yet be spent before Thursday’s deadline day.

While Cristiano Ronaldo is being offered to Napoli in a last ditch attempt to secure a move away from Old Trafford, United are reportedly keen on signing Victor Osimhen in return.

Elsewhere, negotiations have reportedly ‘opened’ for Barcelona ’s Sergino Dest, while Everton are in for Red Devils midfielder James Garner.

The Napoli forward has gained the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs over the past 12 months following a number of impressive performances for his side in Serie A as well as an equally impressive goalscoring record during his time in Italy.

And according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, United are reportedly keeping tabs on Osimhen after putting him “on the list”, although the Red Devils are yet to enter any negotiations for the Nigerian international at this stage.

However, these reports followed earlier rumours about Ronaldo potentially being involved as part of a swap deal for the 23-year-old, with the Portuguese international continuing to search for an exit from Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window.

Diogo Dalot may have done an adequate job at right-back so far this season under Erik ten Hag, but his back-up Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not rated by the Dutchman and United may already have a replacement lined-up.

According to journalist Gerard Romero, the Red Devils are already in negotiations to sign Barcelona star Sergino Dest this summer, with the Catalan giants remaining keen on getting rid of him after the USMNT international became surplus to requirements under Xavi.

Dest quickly fell down the pecking order last year and his time with the La Liga outfit now seems to be up, but now it is a matter of whether United can get a deal over the line in time before Thursday’s cut-off point.

James Garner has been made available for transfer this summer after becoming surplus to requirements under Ten Hag and with United already bringing in Christian Eriksen and Casemiro into the midfield this summer, his hopes of an Old Trafford career are all but over.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Premier League rivals Everton are interested in signing the former Nottingham Forest loanee before the transfer window closes later this week, although they face competition from Southampton.

Romano told Wettfreunde that United rejected an offer from Southampton for Garner last weekend, although an exact figure has yet to be given, but either way Everton will have to up their game if they are to turn United’s head and sign the 21-year-old.
