Despite a rivalry that has lasted almost 15 years, fans have often wondered what it might be like to have the two greatest footballers on the same team.

Well, Messi has also thought the same thing, with the Argentine once revealing he would love to call Ronaldo a teammate.

Lionel Messi has been ranked ahead of CR7 in a recent poll to determine the GOAT of sports.

Messi wants to play on the same team as Ronaldo

Speaking on the topic back in 2015, via Mirror Sport, Messi replied when asked if he would love to play with Ronaldo.

“Yes, of course, I always like to play with the best, and Ronaldo is one of them.

“I think it will be difficult for us to play in the same team, but obviously I would like to.

I was lucky enough to play and participate with many very good players and, obviously, I would also like to do it with him.”

At this stage of their careers, it is unlikely that we will ever see them on the same team, with Messi now playing with Inter Miami in the MLS, and Ronaldo starring for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
