The 27 years old football talent has been in blistering form and enjoying the form of her life for both club and country with top notch consistency since breaking to limelight in 2014 when she first won the prestigious award hitherto.

The former Arsenal star had a remarkable season in the last campaign for FC Barcelona Femeni where she played pivotal role to help the club win a domestic double with her also emerging as the top goalscorer in the La Liga, thereby winning the Pichichi award with 20 goals scored in 19 games played.

She was then named as the CAF Women Best Player for 2022 which was for the record 5th time thereby surpassing Cameroonian international and Barcelona legend, Samuel Eto’o and compatriot Perpetua Nwokocha who had four each as the joint most before yesterday.

Reacting in this regard, the African football governing body popularly known as CAF reacted with a post via their verified Twitter handle with the caption showing that Asisat Oshoala is the first player in history to win 5 African Player of the Year awards.
