He recounted how financial strain pushed him to seek out a middleman who promised him KSh 500,000 in exchange for his kidney.

With dreams of educating his siblings and improving his family’s living conditions, he saw this as a solution to their struggles.

After being linked to the organ broker by a friend who had also sold his kidney, the man underwent surgery at a private hospital in Eldoret to remove his kidney.

Despite initially feeling relieved to have the money to pay for his siblings’ education and purchase a motorbike, he soon began experiencing the harsh reality of his decision.

Post-surgery, the man’s health began to decline rapidly. He found himself struggling to perform even the simplest of tasks and faced constant reminders of the irreversible impact of his choice.
