During Arsenal’s inaugural pre-season match against Numberg, Havertz entered the field as a substitute in the second half, contributing to their 1-1 draw.
However, the former Chelsea sensation delivered a lackluster display, leaving Mikel Arteta grappling with the optimal position for him on the field. Following the match, the German footballer was asked about his choice to unite with the Gunners.
Havertz revealed that during his time at Chelsea, he closely observed Arsenal’s playing style and developed an admiration for the youthful team’s approach to football.
Speaking to journalists in Germany, he expressed, “I sensed an incredible vitality surrounding the club. It’s truly exhilarating to be a part of it now.”
