Thiago Silva is expected to be Chelsea Captain next season because he’s the only Vice Captain at Chelsea last season that’s still at the club but Mauricio Pochettino might decide to turn things around by appointing Reece James as Captain next season.
Aside from Thiago Silva, Chelsea has other Players that could make a case for the Captaincy appointment next season. The likes of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben Chilwell, Raheem Sterling and Enzo Fernandez might also be made Captain but Reece James deserves it more.
With the presence of Levi Colwill, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah in the team, Thiago Silva might not be a solid member of Chelsea’s starting lineup next season.
In the absence of Thiago Silva, Kepa Arrizabalaga might want to wear the Captain armband but the Spanish Goalkeeper hasn’t shown the required consistency that’s needed in a leader. Most Chelsea Fans even wanted him gone this summer, alongside Edouard Mendy.
