An AFP photographer saw rescue workers collecting human remains and the mangled wreck of a car engulfed by flames near the Palestinian refugee camp of Rashidiyah.
The Civil Defense said two people were killed and one person was wounded in the attack. Palestinian sources said Senior Hamas official Hadi Mustafa from the Rashidiyah camp was killed in the strike.
Wednesday’s attack is the closest attack to Tyre since the start of the war. The area is situated about two kilometers away from the southern coastal city.
Israeli warplanes and artillery also targeted Wednesday Marjayoun and the outskirts of Naqoura. On Tuesday, a pair of Israeli airstrikes had killed at least two people and wounded 20 in northeastern Lebanon near Baalbek, while Hezbollah carried out 12 attacks against Israel, including more than 100 rockets on the occupied Golan.
