Marina is married to Mandava Maombedze who works in Kadoma.

Mandava reported the case to Chief Makoni’s court and was demanding six cattle as compensation. However, Tawanda absconded the hearing.

Narrating what transpired, Shupikai Maombedze said he visited his brother’s homestead during the evening with the intention of collecting some money as instructed by his brother.

He, however, got the shock of his life after bumping into Marina and Tawanda as they were being intimate in the presence of Marina’s minor child.

Shupikai said the lovebirds had even thrown caution to the wind and were being intimate with doors wide open.

“Mandava owed a friend some money. Since he was away at work, he called and instructed me to collect the money from his wife.

“I went to his homestead in the company of another villager and knocked at the door, but there was no response despite signs that there were people inside.

“Fortunately, the main door was unlocked and I entered. I called Marina, but she did not respond. The bedroom has no door and I saw some feet. Marina emerged from the bedroom and I asked her why she had taken so long to respond and she remained quiet. She looked confused.

“I entered the bedroom and saw Marina’s child seated with a packet of snacks. I pulled the blanket, and to my surprise it was also being pulled from the other side.

“We had a tug of war with the person on the other side of the blanket. The person threw the blanket at me and it covered my whole body, including the face. He attempted to flee, but I grabbed his leg. To my surprise, I discovered that it was Tawanda,” said Shupikai.

He added: “I am married to Tawanda’s sister. I asked him what he was doing in my brother’s bedroom and he claimed that he was loading music onto Marina’s phone. I quizzed him further and he begged for forgiveness.

“Tawanda pleaded with me to keep the matter under wraps, but I refused to entertain him. I later called other villagers, including his relatives. I also informed my brother,” fumed Shupikai.

The matter was reported to the local headman, but Tawanda absconded the hearing.

“The Kashotis are saying if I ever encounter any challenges with their sister l will face the consequences. After they received summons to appear before this court, they moved all their cattle from their homestead to avoid compensation.

“We have brought these condoms and snacks that we recovered at the scene as evidence,” said Shupikai.

Marina admitted having an affair with Tawanda.

“It is true that I was dating Tawanda, we got intimate four times,” she told Chief Makoni’s court.

The court found Tawanda guilty of adultery and incest.

“The case is clear and straight forward, even in the absence of Tawanda. For adultery, he should compensate Mandava with four cattle.

“The court has also discovered that the degree of relationship between Marina and Tawanda does not permit them to be intimate and therefore he is further fined a beast for incest.

“He was summoned to appear before the headman’s court and this court, but wilfully defaulted, so he is further fined three goats for default. Tawanda will also meet Mandava’s court costs of US$420,” ruled the court…CONTINUE READING>>
