According to Sahara Reporters, OIC made this disclosure in a statement posted on its official website on Sunday, noting that the meeting is slated for October 18 and 19, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Some parts of the statement read: “At the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which chairs the current session of the Islamic Summit and the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC.
The organisation’s Executive Committee is convening an urgent open ended extraordinary meeting at the ministerial level to address the escalating military situation in Gaza.
“The extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the IOC will take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah.”
Nigeria became a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, OIC, in the year 1986, during the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida Rtd.
Presently, the OIC, has a total of 57 member states, making it the second largest organisation after the United Nations. The organisation is the collective voice if the Muslim world.
