Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted President Joe Biden, 81, is ‘old’ Tuesday, adding Americans need to ‘accept the reality’ of his age and vote for him to save democracy from Donald Trump....CONTINUE READING

Clinton’s jab at Joe’s age came during a radio segment with host Zerlina Maxwell. She told Maxwell about a recent conversation she had about the president’s age.

‘Somebody the other day said to me … ‘Well, but, you know, Joe Biden’s old.’ I said, ‘You know what, Joe Biden is old. Let’s go ahead and accept the reality. Joe Biden is old,’ Clinton, 76, said.

‘So we have a contest between one candidate who’s old but who’s done an effective job and doesn’t threaten our democracy,’ she continued. ‘And we have another candidate who is old, barely makes sense when he talks, is dangerous, and threatens our democracy.’

She was referring to former President Donald Trump, who is just one year older than her at 77. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 76, said President Joe Biden, 81, and former President Donald Trump, 77, are both ‘old’

President Joe Biden’s age has become an issue for his campaign as polls show that voters largely believe he is too old for office.

Former President Donald Trump has also been blasted for his age recently ‘So, really, pick between your two old ones and figure out how you’re going to save our democracy,’ she added.

‘Because no matter where you stand on the political spectrum, you want to maintain freedom and the rule of law and protection for people’s fundamental rights, or at least I used to think so.’

A recent poll, however, found that voters are unsure about how Biden’s age will impact a potential second term.

Roughly 6 in 10 say they’re not very or not at all confident in President Biden’s mental capability to serve effectively as president, according to a new survey by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Trump, meanwhile, did not fare better than Biden. Nearly 6 in 10 also said they lack confidence in the mental capability of former President Donald Trump, the 77-year-old Republican front-runner.

Clinton is notably one of the few Democrats to acknowledge the president’s old age. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., told DailyMail.com in February that Biden ‘is as sharp as ever.’

Sen. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., similarly said at the time that, ‘the president is doing an incredible job, and I look forward to making sure he gets re-elected in 2024.’

Questions about the president’s age came into the national spotlight following a January Department of Justice report by Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Clinton is notably one of the few Democrats to acknowledge the president’s old age. Hur claimed that during the investigation into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents, it was clear the president has a ‘poor memory’ and ‘diminished faculties.’

Biden was described as ‘a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man’ who couldn’t remember when he served as vice president or even the date his own son Beau died.

The president immediately pushed back on the damning claims buy Hur, though, saying his ‘memory is fine…CONTINUE READING>>
