The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Adeleke was dismissed by the Osogbo, Osun State, tribunal on Friday after it claimed to have discovered evidence of overvoting, according to POLITICS NIGERIA.

Additionally, it mandated that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) immediately deliver Governor Gboyega Oyetola with the certificate of return that had been issued to Governor Adeleke.

Despite the call for peace, protesters blocked some major roads in Osogbo and Ilesa this morning. They are reportedly angry about the Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to remove Adeleke as governor.

In addition to blocking traffic on the Osogbo/Ikirun route, the demonstrators also obstructed traffic on the Gbongan/Osogbo road and physically assaulted numerous commercial motorcycle operators in the area.

While many commuters were stranded and forced to travel great distances to get where they needed to go, many businesses remained closed to customers out of concern that they might be attacked by the hoodlums.

Kehinde Longe, the state commissioner of police, was traveling in a convoy when three individuals who appeared to be TMC members halted it in the Igbona region.

The well-known Roundabout at Ilesa was closed to traffic, requiring commuters to take detours to get to their respective destinations. In the interim, state security has been stepped up.
