Over the last three years, Haaland, 21, has scored at an astounding rate for Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Dortmund, and the Norwegian national team. Nunez, 22, has become somewhat of a household name as a result of his exploits with Benfica in 2021/22.

The Uruguayan forward scored 34 goals in all competitions, prompting Liverpool to name him as the person to replace Sadio Mane, who is leaving the club.

And despite not nearly being the global sensation that Haaland is just yet, Nunez is now exceeding City’s new main man in one vital area. According to Transfermarkt, the former Almeria striker now has a considerably superior goals-per-game record, ranking sixth in Europe.

The top two are truly remarkable, isn’t it? Scoring almost a goal per game for a month, let alone half a domestic season, is outstanding. Both Mbappe and Benzema, are unbelievably talented.

So far, no Premier League player has surpassed Haaland or Nunez in 2022, which is quite intriguing.

Will they be able to continue this trend when they play for City and Liverpool next season? Nothing but time will tell.
