He expressed satisfaction over the appellate court’s ruling, which validated the ward, local council and state congresses conducted by Abdullahi Abbas as against the one conducted by Haruna Danzago, a Shekarau loyalist.

Presided over by Justice Haruna Tsammani, the three-member panel, in three judgments, held that the High Court acted without jurisdiction in hearing a case about local council and ward congresses conducted by the APC in Kano.

The appellate court held that the dispute was not a pre-election one, but related to the internal affairs of the APC, which should be decided by the party’s leadership.

It allowed the appeal on merit and set aside the judgment given on November 30, 2021 by Justice Hamza Muazu of the FCT High Court.
