Crystal Palace 1-2 Chelsea...CONTINUE READING
Gallagher, a former Palace loanee, came on late but made all the difference when he scored a spectacular goal for the Blues in the top corner! Although there weren’t as many chances in the second half as there were in the first, Chelsea patiently waited for the chance to win the game, and boy, did it come! Palace just couldn’t find a way through.
Liverpool 3-3 Brighton
As a result of the game’s brisk beginning, Brighton seized the lead after just four minutes. Before Trossard sent Alexander-Arnold the wrong way and shot into the bottom right corner, Gross and Welbeck collaborated in the box. After another goal, 14 minutes later, Trossard doubled Brighton’s lead.
In his own half, Alexander-Arnold mishandled the ball and handed Caicedo the ball. The midfielder’s pass found Gross on the edge of the area, and Gross subsequently found Trossard in the back for the second goal of the Belgian. Prior to Firmino’s goal for Liverpool after a weak touch from Salah, Alisson made two crucial stops to prevent Brighton from winning easily.
In the 54th minute, Firmino scored his second goal of the contest while Sanchez stood and watched him hack the ball past Dunk and slot it into the corner.
When Webster’s own goalkeeper punched Alexander-corner Arnold’s into himself, Liverpool went up. In the 83rd minute, when Mitoma sent in a quality cross, Trossard secured his hat-trick by swinging his left foot at the ball to make it 3-3.
Since January 2016, this was Liverpool’s highest-scoring Premier League draw at Anfield (3-3 v Arsenal). They have only ever drawn a home match in the competition with more combined goals (4-4) against Arsenal in April 2009, a game in which an opponent player also scored a hat-trick (Andrey Arshavin).
