Edinson Cavani salvaged a point for Manchester United at Newcastle after a poor display at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United started the match on the front foot, with Eddie Howe’s side dominating possession, creating chances and causing all sorts of problems for United’s defence.
The Magpies broke the deadlock on 7th minute, after a brillant piece of play from Sean Longstaff who laid the ball into Allan Saint-Maximin path, the French winger dribbled past a couple of defenders, before smashing it past David De Gea to hand Eddie Howe’s side an early lead.
Newcastle had chances upon chances to double their advantage, Callum Wilson thought he had doubled the Magpies lead on the 38th minute, after Saint Maximin played him in with a nice pass. But his goal was cancelled for Offside.
Ralf Rangnick’s side lacked ideas going forward, dominating possession without making use of it, United’s first real chance came from a free-kick by Bruno Fernandes, which was crossed into Mason Greenwood’s path, but his effort was well blocked by M. Dubravka.
