For a striker who is very smart and fast, it is unlikely that Nunez will fail to thrive in the Premier League. Based on his performances in the 2021/2022 season, there are about two reasons why Nunez’s arrival should be a cause of concern for other clubs.
A big team player

Nunez often makes himself known in big games. In the Champions League, the striker scored against all the big clubs he faced. He was able to score two against Barcelona in the group stage. This was followed by a goal against Bayern Munich in a 5-2 loss.

Ajax was also at the receiving end of Nunez’s brilliance. His only goal in the second leg helped Benfica past the Dutch club to the semi-finals of the competition. But his most impressive performance came against Liverpool in the quarter-finals, where he scored against the club in both legs.

With Liverpool already filled with quality in attack, the addition of Nunez would only make the team better. And since the Uruguayan has already proven himself against Europe’s big clubs, Premier League clubs are also about to feel his presence.
A goalscoring machine

There is versatility, dribbling and strength in Nunez’s style of play, but his main threat is scoring goals. The Uruguayan had the best minutes per goal in the European top six leagues during the season. He scored 26 league goals in just 28 games, which is equivalent to scoring a goal every 76 minutes played.
