The resignation was communicated through a memo dated the 16th of January, which was made available to journalists in Benin.

Addressed to the party’s deputy state Chairman, the memo cited Article 31 (2) (iii) of the All Progressives Congress Constitution 2022 as the basis for Imuse’s voluntary resignation.

The memo reads in part: “In pursuant to Article 31 (2) (iii) of the All Progressives Congress Constitution 2022 as amended, I have decided to voluntarily resign my position as the State Chairman of this great party in the state.

PAY ATTENTION:  Electoral Bill: We’ve advised Buhari Accordingly-Malami

“This is born out of my desire to enable me to get myself in the state of readiness to contest the next gubernatorial election in the state, which is slated for the 21st of September 2024.”

Imuse expressed gratitude to the members of the party, particularly the State Working Committee and State Executive Committee, for the opportunity to serve as the State Chairman.
