On Monday, April 8, Mfalme and six other co-accused appeared before Kibera Law Courts, where DPP applied to drop the case against him and five others. DPP recommends DJ Joe Mfalme and five other co-accused be utilised as state witnesses in the murder of Kelian;

However, the DPP ordered Mfalme’s friend and MC, Allan Ochieng, a.k.a Hype Ballo, to be charged for the murder.

In a letter dated April 5, 2024, DPP advised that the second to the seven respondents be witnesses in the case. Police have now closed a miscellaneous application file where DJ Joe Mfalme his three assistants and three
police officers were under investigation over the murder of the officer.
