Croatia will be looking to return to winning ways after a humiliating 3-0 defeat at home to Austria, and also be looking to beat France after costing them the World Cup trophy in 2018. As a result, France could be up for another difficult game after they were beaten at home to Denmark.
If Deschamps lines up the French team properly, they should be able to see off a Croatian team who could not respond with a goal of their own after their 3-0 defeat to Austria.
Goal keeper: Hugo Lloris
There is no other goal keeper that is capable of filling the shoes of Hugo Lloris between the sticks for France. He should start once again.
Defense: Jules Kounde, Lucas Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe
With Raphael Varane a doubt for this game after the armstring injury he sustained against Denmark, Lucas Hernandez is the best alternative option and should start alongside Kounde and Kimpembe.
Midfield: Theo Hernandez, Adrien Rabiot, Aurelien Tchouameni, Kingsley Coman
This is their best midfield combination, with Ngolo Kante unavaible for selection. The pace of Coman could cause problems for Croatia and presence of Tchouameni in midfield is reliable.
Attacking Midfield: Antoine Griezmann
This has always been his role in the French national team and has played fairly well in that role. There is no other better option than the Atletico Madrid striker.
Forwards: Christopher Nkunku, Karim Benzema
With Kylian Mbappe a doubt for this game, Nkunku looks the best possible option to replace him. Although Mbappe will missed due to his dribbling, pace and team contribution, Nkunku can perform a similar task and should start alongside the Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema.
