In this article we will look at some of the colors of your period and what they can tell you about your health.

1. Pinkish color. This color may indicate low estrogen levels in your body. Low estrogen levels later in life can put you at risk for osteoporosis.

2. Dark brown. This is normal and may indicate that blood has been sticking around in your uterus for some time.

3. Thick and look like jam with clots. This is also normal and indicates that you have high estrogen levels and low progesterone levels.

4. Grey reddish mix. This can be one of two things a sign of a miscarriage or a sign of an STD.

5. Cranberry red. This normal colored blood and is considered healthy.

6. Orange. This may be a sign you are having ab infection.

7. Watery. If your period blood is light pink or without color it is either you have a nutritional deficiency or potential ovarian cancer.

Seek medical attention if your period is not the normal healthy color, and it smells, or you have severe abdominal pain.
