Dates are gotten from the dates palm tree and pack relatively a lot of sweetness. The sugar primarily found in dates is fructose, as other fruits. This can be a concern as to its impact on the blood sugar.

Glycemic index (GI) is one of the measurements of determining the effects of food substances on blood sugar level. A food with high GI has significant impact in raising the blood sugar levels. other words, a food with a low GI causes less significant fluctuations in blood sugar and insulin levels.
