Tuchel is eager to rebuild Chelsea this summer, regardless of whether or not he is able to sign the £77 million-rated forward. The boss of the Blues told football.london:
“We’re rebuilding the team, not enhancing it.” We are in the process of rebuilding. This is always a challenge for us, but we are up for it.
“I’ve had no idea where we’re at since day one.” What I can guarantee is that I will be here – if I can promise that – with full vigor and positive energy regardless of what happens. We’ll continue to work for Chelsea, and I’m not going to think about the worst-case situation. On whatever level we will compete, we will see.
“There is a danger in terms of how the delay and sanctions would affect us. Given the circumstances of the other two teams, City and Liverpool, who are already developing their squads and setting one benchmark after another in all facets of the game, it will be difficult to make up for the disadvantage.”
