The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this season after an exceedingly fruitful season at RB Leipzig.

This season, the France international has made 51 appearances for the German club, scoring 55 goals directly.

Numerous top-flight European teams have indicated an interest in his remarkable achievements, with the west Londoners among those who have expressed an interest.

Chelsea is still interested in the attacker, according to football.london, ahead of the summer transfer season.

Nkunku was scouted by the Blues this season, and Thomas Tuchel’s side could make a summer move for him.

Chelsea might be the first club to make a bid for the attacker, according to the French publication L’Equipe, with Todd Boehly wanting to equip the Blues with enough firepower to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool.

The new ownership group consortium, which concluded a £4.25 billion agreement to buy Stamford Bridge last week, is set to ‘push for A-list additions’ to usher in a new era at the west London club, according to the MailOnline.

Chelsea will be given a £200 million war fund after player sales, according to The Telegraph, with Boehly anxious to improve Tuchel’s team.

Nkunku, whose contract with RB Leipzig expires in two years, is thought to be in talks with the German club about a new deal.

In an interview with French television channel Telefoot this weekend, the highly sought-after forward broke his silence on his next move, according to GFFN.

“It’s no secret,” Nkunku remarked. There are a few clubs that are interested in me. Yes, it’s flattering, but it’s much more flattering to have a club like Leipzig go to such lengths to keep me.

“I’ll need to think about it and make a decision.” The World Cup is approaching, so that’s another element to consider.”

Nkunku was then asked what he would do if Paris Saint-German, his childhood club, approached him. “Like I said, I’ll just have to think about it,” he said.

Tuchel is eager to rebuild Chelsea this summer, regardless of whether or not he is able to sign the £77 million-rated forward. The boss of the Blues told football.london:

“We’re rebuilding the team, not enhancing it.” We are in the process of rebuilding. This is always a challenge for us, but we are up for it.

“I’ve had no idea where we’re at since day one.” What I can guarantee is that I will be here – if I can promise that – with full vigor and positive energy regardless of what happens. We’ll continue to work for Chelsea, and I’m not going to think about the worst-case situation. On whatever level we will compete, we will see.

“There is a danger in terms of how the delay and sanctions would affect us. Given the circumstances of the other two teams, City and Liverpool, who are already developing their squads and setting one benchmark after another in all facets of the game, it will be difficult to make up for the disadvantage.”
