West Ham’s Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital ownership will pay a high price for the Chelsea return of the bona fide Premier League superstar.
A fresh proposal from Chelsea for West Ham’s vice-captain has been rejected by the Hammers, according to 90min (h/t football.london). Since Chelsea’s interest in the Hammers has been so long-standing, the Hammers have remained steadfast in their valuation of the player.
This summer, according to reports, Chelsea have made contact with West Ham’s principal shareholder, the Hammers’ David Sullivan. The answer, on the other hand, was unambiguous: Rice will not be accessible this summer.
Despite the fact that it appears to be a dead end, given the nature of the market, never rule anything out. If Chelsea genuinely wants to make a deal happen, it is conceivable and within their power.
Armando Broja, a Chelsea academy striker who shined while on loan at Southampton last year, is a major target for West Ham United. Jason Burth of the Telegraph reported lately that Chelsea have rejected all offers from West Ham for the 20-year-old Albanian player.
A swap deal between West Ham and the Blues would be a viable option for Chelsea should they decide to pursue Rice this transfer window. As part of a two-for-one deal, Ross Barkley can be included in future conversations as well.
While Rice has long been a target for both Manchester clubs (Manchester United and City), it appears unlikely they would make a bid for him this summer.

It’s only then that the two sides can focus their attention elsewhere, and even then Chelsea will need a careful assessment of whether or not they can afford to spend big this summer or wait until the next, when Rice’s contract expires.
