During the season that Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League in the 2020/22 season, the attackers of the West London club weren’t exceptionally great but the defense was impregnable.
Last season, the Blues also managed to make top 4, not because they have consistent Attackers but because they have a strong defense.
It is almost the same this season too and that’s why most Fans think Chelsea can stand against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester City in the race for the UEFA Champions League trophy this season.
The aforementioned European clubs are the favorites to win the UEFA Champions League trophy but, if Chelsea can stand against them, it would be because of the defense of the Blues.
I mean after putting about £200million in the squad this season just for Defense alone, one would expect that the Blues have built a wall in the back. Kalidou Koulibaly was the first Defender that walked through the gates of Stamford Bridge last Summer after Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger both left.
The West London club later added Marc Cucurella to the mix before they signed Wesley Fofana from Leicester City. In January, Chelsea signed Benoit Badiashile From Monaco.
