He signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract with the Blues, which the team has the option to extend by another 12 months, as part of a £30.5 million agreement.

The English winger, who switched from Tottenham to the Eindhoven squad in 2018, has all but been declared to be moving to the Premier League by PSV coach Ruud van Nistelrooy, who stated: “Because of his departure, we lose a solid player. There was no going back, and there was a substantial monetary reward.”

Following the loan signing of Joao Felix and the permanent acquisitions of David Datro Fofana, Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar, Benoit Badiashile from Monaco, and Andrey Santos from Vasco da Gama in Brazil. Madueke became Chelsea’s sixth acquisition of the January transfer window.

The England youth international left PSV after four and a half years there, during which time he scored 21 goals in 77 games while rising through the ranks at Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

“I’m really pleased to sign with one of the best clubs in the world in Chelsea,” Madueke said on the team’s official website.

My family and I have always wanted to come back to England and play in the Premier League, and we can’t wait to get started.

“I look forward to what the future holds, the owner’s vision for the future, and to be at a club like this and winning at the highest level,” the player said.
