The six-time European Cup/Champions League winners have a reported interest in the 23-year-old, who is on the club’s transfer shortlist.

According to a previous report by Phillips, a serious bid is expected to be lodged by the reigning Bundesliga champions to Chelsea for the services of Havertz.

The same article also goes on to say that if Bayern had approached the Stamford Bridge club for the 28-time Germany international this summer, then the player would have pushed for a move to the Allianz Arena.

The German starlet was signed by the west London club from Bayer Leverkusen on a five-year contract in September 2020, in a reported deal worth around £76m.

However, it looks like his time in the Premier League could be up come next summer, and Phillips believes that Chelsea are expecting Bayern to make a move.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Chelsea are expecting that.

“They know there’s interest there.

“They’ve known that for a while so they’re waiting for Bayern to make that offer.

“But you know, that will be in the summer, that won’t be in January.

“Chelsea wouldn’t entertain it in January.”

Despite being a relatively solid performer during the course of his two years at Stamford Bridge, it’s safe to say that Havertz hasn’t quite hit the heights you’d expect from a £76m player.

The Aachen-born player has made 100 appearances for the Premier League side, scoring 24 goals and providing 14 assists since his 2020 arrival according to Transfermarkt, though he did score the winning goal in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Manchester City to win the 2021 Champions League Final.

He has played in both his natural attacking midfield role, as well as playing as a centre-forward during these appearances, earning himself an underwhelming average SofaScore rating of 6.83 for his performances in the Premier League across last season.

However, the 6 foot 3 international does put in the hard yards for his team, ranking in the top 1% of attacking midfielders/wingers across Europe’s top five leagues and European competition for clearances per 90 minutes (1.37) and top 2% for aerial duels won per 90 (2.44) over the last 365 days, according to FBref.

Whilst Havertz has not been a terrible signing at all for the Blues, far from it in fact, it still seems likely that if the club could recoup some of that money spent on bringing him to Stamford Bridge in 2020, they might accept a reasonable deal from Bayern next summer.
