The Foxes’ triumph not only marked their eighth home win in 10 league games but also propelled them to the joint-fastest team to reach 50 points in the Championship since its rebranding in 2004.

Millwall, still finding their footing after Gary Rowett’s departure in October, surprised the hosts with an early lead as Tom Bradshaw converted Jed Wallace’s precise cross with a flicked header.

However, Leicester, undeterred, initiated a swift comeback. Wout Faes came close with a free header, and the home crowd voiced their discontent when a potential penalty was denied after Abdul Fatawu seemed to be fouled in the box.

The halftime whistle saw Millwall maintaining their lead, but whatever Enzo Maresca conveyed during the break ignited a remarkable second-half resurgence for the Foxes.

Jannik Vestergaard leveled the score with a well-placed header from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s delivery, and just four minutes later, Wilfred Ndidi’s precise cross found Patson Daka, who nodded home from close range, granting Leicester the advantage.

Despite Fatawu’s persistent threats and an unfortunate missed opportunity for Stephy Mavididi, Leicester secured all three points when Ricardo Pereira calmly finished from 10 yards out. Kevin Nisbet pulled one back for Millwall in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome.

With this victory, Leicester City reclaimed their position at the top of the Championship, one point ahead of Ipswich, while Millwall languishes in 20th place after a disappointing run of one win in their last 11 matches.

Elsewhere, Norwich City showcased their dominance at Carrow Road, securing a convincing 3-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, extending the Owls’ winless streak at the venue to six games. Borja Sainz, making his first start for Norwich, surprised fans with a stunning goal from outside the box, giving the Canaries an early lead.

Despite Ashley Barnes rattling the crossbar for Wednesday, Bailey Cadamarteri equalized with a poacher’s header. Norwich maintained momentum, and Barnes, overcoming missed opportunities, redeemed himself in the second half. He capitalized on a well-executed team move initiated by Sainz, slotting the ball into the bottom right corner to regain the lead.

The game’s turning point occurred in the final 20 minutes when Jonathan Rowe, connecting with Dimitris Giannoulis’ cross, secured a 3-1 advantage for Norwich with a precise header. The victory marked Norwich’s fourth win in their last six Championship games, propelling them into the top half of the table.
