According to Healthline, there are numerous forms of cancer, as well as many possible causes. It’s well known that a variety of factors can play a role in the development of cancer....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

Factors such as genetic makeup and family history are involved. However, external factors over which you may have some control, such as your living habits, have a greater impact. Research indicates that between 80% and 90% of malignant cancers are caused by external sources.

Diet is a critical lifestyle component to consider. That is because a substantial body of research has established that specific diets are related to an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer.

Certain foods may increase your chance of developing type 2 diabetes and obesity, both of which are linked to certain types of cancer.

1. Processed meat

Any sort of meat that has been preserved through smoking, salting, curing, or canning is considered processed meat. The majority of processed meats are made from red meat.

According to studies, processed meat is a substantial risk factor for colorectal cancer. Additionally, a separate review discovered a relationship between it and stomach cancer.

A high intake of processed meat was connected with an elevated risk of breást cancer.

2. Fried foods

When starchy meals are overcooked, a chemical called acrylamide is created. This can occur during the frying, baking, roasting, or toasting processes.

Fried starchy meals have a disproportionate amount of acrylamide. This category contains goods made from fried potatoes, such as french fries and potato chips.

Consuming a high-fat diet also raises your risk of developing type 2 diabetes and obesity. These diseases can increase your risk of cancer by promoting oxidative stress and inflammation.

3. Overcooked foods

Overcooking foods, particularly meats, can result in the formation of carcinogens. According to studies, cooking beef at a high temperature produces carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic amines (HCAs).

When cooking at high heat or over an open flame, you are more likely to overcook dishes. Overcooking starchy foods such as potatoes increase acrylamide generation.

4. Dairy products

There is some evidence that dairy consumption may contribute to an increased risk of prostate cancer. Dairy foods include yogurt, cheese, and milk.

According to a research, dairy consumption boosts insulin-like growth factor 1 levels (IGF-1). This has been linked to an increased risk of prostate cancer. IGF-1 may promote prostate cancer cell proliferation or creation.

5. Refined sugars and carbohydrates

Sugary meals and processed carbs may increase your risk of cancer indirectly. Several of these foods include drinks sweetened with sugar and grains high in sugar.

Consuming a high-sugar, starchy food diet may raise your chances of acquiring type 2 diabetes and obesity. Both situations, according to a study, cause inflammation and oxidative stress. This may put you at an increased risk of developing some types of cancer.

A high sugar and refined carbohydrate intake may also result in elevated blood glucose levels, which may be a risk factor for colon cancer.

6. Alcohol

When you ingest alcohol, your liver converts it to acetaldehyde, a potentially carcinogenic chemical.

Acetaldehyde causes DNA damage and oxidative stress. Additionally, it impairs your immune system, making it more difficult for your body to identify precancerous and cancerous cells.

Drinking raises estrogen levels in women. This has been associated with an increased risk of developing oestrogen receptor-positive breast cancer.
